About Us

Why we are so passionate about The Finn

Jeff and Alison are travelers at heart. One of our favorite things is to immerse ourselves in other cultures. Of all the places we've traveled, Finland is the one that changed us.

One of the most magical experiences for us was the sauna. The hiss of steam on the rocks. The sweat leaving our bodies and taking the stress with it. The quiet of the snowy forest pressing in around us, and the time to just be.

Then the cold plunge, into water we sometimes had to break the ice to reach. A shock to the system, in the best way possible. And the feeling after we climbed out: clear, calm, wide awake. There's nothing like it.

It's what we found missing when we came home. Not the place. The pause. The quiet. The chance to actually stop.

Maybe it's no accident the Finns are the happiest people on earth. So much of their life is lived close to nature, and you feel it in them.

We think people need to be in nature. To connect with it, the way we did over there. So we're building somewhere to do exactly that.

We invite you to experience this with us at The Finn.

— Alison and Jeff

Why This Property

As a child, Alison spent time here in the Mount Washington Valley, and these mountains never let go of her. Jeff, a desert-born Arizonan, is new to all this, but it's taken him no time at all to fall for the magic of the Valley. The wild, unfussy nature of New Hampshire speaks to us the way Finland did.

When we found this property, it felt like the place we'd been looking for all along, surrounded by deep forests, tall mountains, and a clear brook fed by water that started on snowy peaks. That water doesn't stop here. It meets the Saco in Conway and eventually reaches the sea. We loved that. Everything here is part of something bigger, and so is everyone who comes to stay.
